My kids love counting down the days to the huge man sliding down our chimney. So this season, they each created their own chalkboard “Countdown to Christmas” decoration to hang on the tree. They adore altering the amounts daily, and that I love getting their sweet small handwriting on a decoration.

You will only need a couple of things from the craft shop to create them  Chalkboard Advent Ornaments.

Hint: Let the children use a small paintbrush, water, and a fabric to remove the amounts every day. This will stop them from smearing their words in the base.

We also picked up a bundle of smaller birch timber circles. The boys chalked their titles and drew pictures on the others. I believe they enjoy wiping the chalkboard wash up to they can do drawing on them.

I hope you are inspired to craftinhale, create, and observe. Merry Christmas!
